THE ARTIST
Our owner and lead photographer, Nicole, is the talent, energy, and love behind all of Milky Monkey Photography’s portrait art. She is one of Maryland’s premier newborn photographers who holds membership with both the Professional Photographers of America and the International Newborn Photographer Association. Nicole creates her art with decades of photography experience, 7 years of newborn specialization, training with world famous photographers and the utmost appreciation for the safety and care of your darling little one.
Coming from a photography family, Nicole was encouraged by her father, a talented and accomplished wildlife photographer, to pursue portrait design and the photographic arts. Her natural ability to seek out, read, and bend light was then combined with extensive training with world famous newborn, baby, family, and maternity photographers. She brings this dynamic of natural skill and extensive studying to each and every session to ensure that your portraits are high-level, heirloom quality portrait art.
Nicole at Milky Monkey Photography is the first Maryland newborn photographer to hold certification with the American Association of Newborn Photography Safety. She also holds memberships with The Professional Photographers of America, The International Newborn Photography Association and is safety trained by Accredited Professional Newborn Photographer International.
When blazing her path in the portrait world, Nicole knew that specialization was the key to true inspiration. She followed her heart and found that newborns and babies truly spoke to her as both and artist and a person. Being a mother herself, she has a love and fondness for everything about babies from their tiny toes, to their sweet gummy smiles, and even their sweet tears. And it is this love that is the final and most important piece of her work. She is passionate about babies and capturing their most precious first year of life. She will bring this passion to your portraits and produce art that you will cherish forever.
THE STUDIO
Our private, residential studio is warm, cozy and amazing! This is where the true artistry happens. Our studio has professional grade portrait lighting and modifiers and a collection of the very best boutique costuming, accessories, and backdrops to create our unique, stunning, heirloom quality portrait art.
In addition to our portrait development area, we have a dedicated client lounge with a comfortable sitting area, television, and wifi access. Our client lounge has an outlet for pumping moms or moms who bring along a plug-in bottle warmer. We keep our sitting area stocked with snacks and water for our clients to enjoy. You may choose to close of the client area or leave it open to view all the great work happening in the portrait development area.
All of our stunning newborn sessions and gorgeous baby milestone sessions take place in the studio. Clients may also choose to have maternity sessions in studio.
